HISTORY

UNLIMITED has evolved out of many years of experience in the community development industry, particularly over the last 19 years of historic change in South Africa. Graeme Sayer established DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT SERVICES in March 1990. The main objective of Development Management Services was to facilitate broad based community development initiatives in settlements and communities throughout Natal/KwaZulu. DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT SERVICES provided a developmental advisory and management service. Development Management Services established THE DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT TRUST (September 1992) with the initial aim of developing and publishing capacity building training materials. The Trust was further utilized as a vehicle for community based projects. Projects were undertaken throughout the region of KwaZulu Natal, by ZIPHATHELE, the training arm of DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT SERVICES, operating generally in disadvantaged communities situated in rural, peri-urban and urban areas. In 2000 Graeme Sayer established UNLIMITED.
